I have had the honor and pleasure of working with Alisha for the past several years. She continually excels for our company as a law enforcement instructor. Alisha is extremely knowledgeable and teaches with great passion and this is always reflected on the end of course evaluations. Alisha Shoates James is a badass! Perhaps for these purposes I'll be more refined, she is bold, brilliant, innovative and perceptive. Alisha's never afraid to do the right thing, or to speak her mind or speak truth to power. I have been engaged in the criminal justice system as a practitioner, professor, and principal for more than 40 years, I've seen a lot of people come and go, I've never met anyone like her or anyone stronger, fairer or kinder. When I met her we were at first colleagues, became friends, and then collaborators and then later conspirators. I challenged her, we argued, we agreed and then argued some more, sometimes incessantly, which I'm afraid only refined her arguments making them stronger, clearer and more persuasive, her depth of reasoning and insight is remarkable, and now, I see, she's on the precipice of greatness. She's a leader and a team player, as in a great asset to any team, she works well with others. She's refreshing, funny and knows what to say in the right moment to say it with impeccable timing. Her trajectory is straight up and climbing fast, this woman is going somewhere

Being part of the organising committee ICPA/ EUROPRIS , I had the honour to facilitate Alisha's presentation for the Technology In Prisons seminar, hosted in Lisbon; april 2019. Alisha impressed the room. She has the valuable ability to grasp the attention of the audience, guide them through her message and leave them afterwards with reflections on the matter discussed. Only people how can tell their story with a fluent passion and a strong belief in the brought message, have the ability to do so. I was quite impressed with her abilities to bring a subject in such an authentic, driven and powerful way. because, that is the best way to bring a message. I wish her the very best in her future projects, and hold high regards, both for her capabilities as for her competences to transfer the message towards a selective audience
